When creating a new blueprint for your life, it's important to stay in a positive headspace. When your mind, body, and spirit are working together harmoniously, you can accomplish great things and do anything you put your mind to!
Outside of the primary basics of eating fresh healthy food, hydrating with water and getting adequate amounts of sleep, here are 10 tips that have helped to reduce some anxieties about life changes and have kept me moving forward.
You can't cut corners on your growth so it's always a great time to invest in yourself and in your health!
Hope you find these tidbits useful and they can help you too.
- Check in with yourself daily - assess how you are feeling mentally, physically and emotionally or spiritually to ensure that your systems are connected and that you're staying present - you can do this a few times a day if needed.
- Reduce caffeine intake - can’t stress this one enough - I hadn't realized how this autopilot habit of jolting and jarring affected me daily and was revving me up too much having the opposite effect on my desire to focus! By reducing and replacing with water or much lower caffeinated teas, you may also start to feel more refreshed and alert.
- Double your physical activity - crank up your passive workouts to more physically challenging exercises or increase the time spent exercising daily at home or in nature, whether solo or with a partner.
- Explore creative outlets - add in a fun creative outlet to keep your spirit happy - if you're not the creative type that's ok too, add new music or a new genre of film to your repertoire and indulge yourself.
- Try a new recipe or cuisine - is there something you've wanted to try but haven't yet? Hop to it and don't fret if you're a novice in the kitchen, you can support a local business and order it to go!
- Repurpose your anger - channeling your angst or emotions into your exercise or creative expression is a healthy way to channel your energy without letting it fester or taking it out on someone else. Punching or screaming into a pillow also works too ; )
- Connect with supportive friends - online, offline - wherever - connect, say hi, share stories. Spread and receive some love and positivity. Even if you're introverted or your friends are, a check in to say hi can go a long way!
- Disconnect off of social media or TV for a week or two - sometimes the reset can feel cleansing and you can pick back up where you left off if need be. Be cognizant to reconnect mindfully when you're ready if you don't want to fall off the grid completely.
- Bless and thank the past for its wisdom, knowledge and awareness - while it's imperative to do this daily as a part of your wind down routine, you can close down larger chapters of life with love and gratitude, knowing you're able to take what you've learned with you and move forward empowered by your experience.
- Forgive and be patient with yourself - if you slip up on your diet or mis-manage your time or flub something up (again) - it's ok, mistakes will happen and they're a part of life. Fall nine times, get up ten! It's ok as long as you keep going.
Often times personal growth has its own timetable that we can’t control - we simply have to go along with the changes. It is also not a competitive sport. We’re all allowed to learn and evolve in our own time and in our own ways.
Moving forward positively and staying present is an inside job so commit to yourself and stay in the zone.
Once you're practicing acceptance and are living more clearly in the present moment you are more equipped to handle all that life has to offer more graciously and more gracefully.
Also know that throughout your changes in personal self development, that not everyone will be on the same path as you or having the same experience as you. You may not have support from everyone in your network even if you did at former times in your life. It's natural but do not let that distract you from applauding your own growth.
Show up daily for yourself and the rest will naturally sort itself out.
Be accountable and thoughtful in your actions and be supportive where you can, if you can.
The beauty of growth is everyone is growing and now more so than ever - we are experiencing massive collective positive growth shifts in addition to any personal triumphs that may be occuring in your life.
It's important we all share lessons we've learned with others so everyone can benefit and maybe even learn something new.
